“Hi, Ken. Thanks for taking my call.”

Ken, forgive me for the mushroom cloud of smoke I’m about to blow at you. I do mean every word.

About nine months ago, I watched a Vice documentary about the extreme heat in cities and how their infrastructure contributes to the conditions. I thought, “hmm, that’s interesting,” and forgot about it. But then I found Chillboards. After scraping my jaw off my desk and almost deleting every spec beer ad I’ve written, I knew I had to reach out to you.

Honestly, I don’t think Chillboards is an ad; it’s a brand using art in service of culture. I am beyond inspired by your work and more than slightly jealous. The result is tangible and accurate. It helps everyone involved, and when EOD comes, you are able to give the client something worth paying for. #Epic

I watched a video and saw a problem, you saw the same problem, and then you saw a way to help fix it, and with BEER, for god's sake. The next time my family makes some sly comment about advertising as an unredeemable practice, I will show them this project.

I am only a year into this whole copywriting thing, and I have much learning ahead. I want to work for and learn from someone passionate and driven, who loves what their job lets them do, and who understands the power of the platforms we access. I want to work for someone like you.

If you hate gimmicks, I’m sorry. But you came this far, so you might as well
check out some of my work here.
