“Hi, Thomans. Thanks for taking my call.”

Thomas, forgive me for the mushroom cloud of smoke I’m about to blow at you. I do mean every word.

You have an eye for smart, quick, and smirk-inducing ideas. It’s almost upsetting that one person could have so many killer ideas. Obviously, I must tell you how much I have enjoyed and been inspired by the cookie-scented bus shelter.

Cookies and milk. Not the most groundbreaking connection to make between two products. But the way you were able to bring that simple connection into the world and let people experience it is genius. Back in school, one of my professors used it as an example, and I still remember the room's collective gasp.

I have always loved the medium of print and how a killer print ad can make someone stop mid-step. The best print makes people feel smart, like they figured something out. The “AH-HA!” moment is a wonderful thing. I think the cookie-scented bus shelter is all of that and more. In a way, it’s a three-dimensional print ad. You were able not just to stop someone mid-step but mid-sniff.

I am only a year into this whole copywriting thing, and I have much learning ahead. I want to work for and learn from someone passionate and driven, who loves what their job lets them do, and who understands the power of the platforms we access. I want to learn from someone like you.

If you hate gimmicks, I’m sorry. But you came this far, so you might as well
